The Steps of Rome

Friday night, 12 of us went into San Francisco for dinner. We went to an Italian restaurant called The Steps of Rome. The atmosphere was really fun and the food wasn't too bad either! One of the guys with out group told the waiter that it was my birthday! I got free dessert and also had to get up in front of the whole place and dance with him! It was so much fun!

Trying to be Artsy

I took the first picture on the trail outside of our hotel. The second one is while we were all sitting on the patio while we were watching the sun set!

Happy Halloween - OAKLAND STYLE

For Halloween, we decided it would be fun to go to the Fat Lady, which is a restaurant in Jack London Square. That's an area near downtown Oakland where you can find a lot of different restaurants and the ferry to San Francisco! The restaurant was COMPLETELY decked out in Halloween decor!! Below are a couple of pictures of our group! We had a great time, but I would have loved to have gotten to see my niece in her Panda costume (click on the Sinks blog on the left) and I would have loved to have dressed Tiki up in his costume too!!!

While shopping last Saturday, Sunni found this hat that had a spider on it! I found my little get up (and yes there are wings, you just can't see them!) for $2 at TJMaxx! We were the only girls in the group to attempt to dress up! We had so much fun!

This is Sunni and I again, but this time with John. He actually wore this to work on Halloween! (Please notice that I felt the need to do some sort of ballerina move! Yeah!!)

I know this picture is kinda dark, but this was the whole gang (Mike, Nathaniel, John, me, Sunni, Brian and Lynn) at the Fat Lady!!!!!

What do I do everyday??

So, in case you were wondering where I've been spending my days during the week, here you go! We spend each day in the Federal Building. Her are some pictures from outside our windows! These give you a taste of what downtown Oakland looks like! It's definitely not as scary as I thought it would be. I actually find myself liking it a lot! In the first picture, you can see some colored umbrellas. They are in the City Center area. There are tons of restaurants in this area and we've gone there a few days to eat. It's really cool. The second picture is of a few people in our group (Lynn, me, Mike, Sunni, Brian and Nathaniel).

Tiki vs. the Duck

Tiki hasn't had any new toys lately because he tears them to pieces. An example of his titanium teeth, we bought a toy guarenteed not to rip. They claimed it was tested on tigers. HA, is all I have to say. It had a hole in it within mere minutes. So I saw a toy duck today at work and I bought it for Tiki to try his luck with. Here are the results

Yeah those deer antlers were once attached to a whole deer till Tiki got a grip on them.

Halloween

So since Lindsay isn't home for Halloween I didn't really do anything, but I did go over to my parents to see my neice Kathryn dressed up. Johnny said I would like her costume so much to my surprise she was a Panda bear. Here are the pictures of Kathryn's first Halloween!

And the Advenuture Continues

Ok, so it's been a couple of days since my last post, and I thought I would update everyone on my Cali Adventures...which actually don't add up to anything really interesting. This past Friday, I started coming down with a really yucky cold. I think it was a combination of the travel and the change in weather. It's really cool here. So, when everyone decided to go out for dinner Friday night, I decided to stay at the hotel and get some rest. Saturday morning arrived and I thought I was better and could join the gang to take the BART (Bay Area Transportation...kinda like the DC Metro) into San Francisco to do touring for the day. I made it up and got ready. I made it down to the lobby. I made it to the van. I made it into Oakland. I made it into the Bart station. I did not make it on to the Bart! Right before the Bart pulled up, I started feeling very dizzy and seeing lots of spots. Bascially, I almost passed out!!! (I probably should have eaten...but you all know that when you have a cold, food doesn't sound so yummy. Plus it was really cool outside and hot in the station...anyways). So thankfully, Mike took me back to the hotel where I crashed for the rest of the day. Sunday was a bit better and I actually was able to make it onto the Bart and into San Fran to do a bit of shopping. But we didn't stay long and I came back to take yet another nap and rest. I am feeling much better today and I have a marathon of shopping lined up for this coming weekend. Since I didn't venture out of the hotel, I have no pictures. But I thought I should update anyway! Hope you enjoyed!!!
