It's that time of year...Wedding Season. We have quite a few friends getting married this year! Our friends Brandon and Megan are getting married on June 30, so the showers have begun!! Megan's first shower was last weekend! It was a lot of fun and she and Brandon got a lot of neat things for their apartment!! For one of the games, we had to make a wedding dress out of toilet paper! Brandon's sister Heather and I were on the same team! These are some pictures of the wonderful dress we created!!!

DC Trip Continued
After the Zoo, we went to ESPN Zone to play games! It was a great time! After that we headed back to the apartment to take a nap! We spent the evening playing Taboo, Girls against Boys. On Sunday, we played Putt Putt and then went to Ryan and Lindsey's chruch, McLean Bible. After chruch, we played a game of Loaded Questions (which I won!!!). We left early on Monday morning. It was such a great time with some of our absolute best friends. I can't wait for us all to hang out again, which will most likely be on June 30 for Megan and Brandon's wedding!! Next year, Lindsey and Ryan will be living in Vienna, Austria, so our annual trip will take us overseas!!!
Annual Trip to DC
The weekend of April 20-22, we took our annual trip to Washington DC to visit our friends Ryan and Lindsey Hamilton. We arrived around 10 on Friday night, which was also Hokie Hope Day. We enjoyed a little Trivial Pursuit before turning in for the night. On Saturday we got up around 6 am to get ready and head to the National Zoo. We got to see the Pandas, which was especially exciting for Randy and I! We have watched "Growing Up Panda" about a thousand times on Animal Planet!

Tuesday Nights
As I think I've mentioned before, Tuesday nights are the Sink family nights at Famous Anthony's. Usually Johnny and Randy have to work late and are unable to come, but a couple of weeks ago, the gang was all there! Even Randy's little cousin Josh! Kathryn started off the night being very awake, but then, Uncle Randy worked his magic and put her right to sleep! After dinner, Josh came over to meet Tiki!! As you can see they were both really excited and had a great time!

We are Virginia Tech

The events at Virginia Tech on Monday have touched everyone, especially those who have family or friends on campus. Randy and I consider ourselves very lucky to have only a few friends left on the campus. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been injured, those who have lost their lives and all those who have been touched, in any way, by this tragedy. Below is the poem that Nikki Giovanni read at the Convocation on Tuesday afternoon.
We are Virginia Tech.
We are sad today, and we will be sad for quite a while. We are not moving on, we are embracing our mourning.
We are Virginia Tech.
We are strong enough to stand tall tearlessly, we are brave enough to bend to cry, and we are sad enough to know that we must laugh again.
We are Virginia Tech.
We do not understand this tragedy. We know we did nothing to deserve it, but neither does a child in Africa dying of AIDS, neither do the invisible children walking the night away to avoid being captured by the rogue army, neither does the baby elephant watching his community being devestated for ivory, neither does the Mexican child looking for fresh water, neither does the Appalachian infant killed in the middle of the night in his crib in the home his father built with his own hands being run over by a boulder because the land was destabilized. No one deserves a tragedy.
We are Virginia Tech.
The Hokie Nation embraces our own and reaches out with open heart and hands to those who offer their hearts and minds. We are strong, and brave, and innocent, and unafraid. We are better than we think and not quite what we want to be. We are alive to the imaginations and the possibilities. We will continue to invent the future through our blood and tears and through all our sadness.
We are the Hokies.
We will prevail.
We will prevail.
We will prevail.
We are Virginia Tech.
